Am 6.Februar um 8 Uhr früh erreichte die Olympische Fackel Pemberton. Das ganze Dorf war beim Fackelzug dabei. Alle 300 Meter wurden die Läufer ausgewechselt. Anschliessend an den Fackelzug gab es Ansprachen vor dem Gemeindezentrum. Das lokale Maskottchen „Potato Jack“ wie auch die Maskottchen „Miga und Quatchi“ von den Olympischen Spielen waren anwesend. Am Nachmittag besuchte ich Freunde die in Whistler ein Ferienhaus besitzen. Anschliessend ging ich zur Eröffnung des Swiss House. Eine halbe Stunde stand ich an um ins Haus zu gelangen. Ganz Whistler wollte Schweizer-Schokolade versuchen. Schweizer habe ich keine angetroffen. Vor dem Haus wurde Schweizer Musik abgespielt. Bevor ich nach Hause ging, ass ich im „White Spot“ Restaurant einen Hamburger mit Treble „O“ Sauce mit Jam Pommes frites.

Torch run

The Olympics torch had arrived in Pemberton on February 6^th, at 8am. It was the whole village there. They changed the runners every 300 meters. Some people talked to the attendees after the run in front of the community center. It was there the local mascot “Potato Jack” and the Olympics Mascot “Miga and Quatchi” to. I visited friends from Vancouver in the afternoon. They have a cottage in Whistler. I went to the opening ceremonies from the Swiss Houses after. I stand in a line up for ½ hour. I didn’t met other Swiss people. All people form Whistler would like to trey Swiss Chocolate. I went to the White Spot before I went home and I eat a hamburger with treble “O” souse and with jam fries.
