Am Mor­gen den 28. Jan­u­ar fuhr ich mit dem Grey­hound Bus nach Whistler. Fahrplan­mäs­sige Abfahrt in Van­cou­ver war um acht Uhr, aber ich musste 30 Minuten vor der Abfahrt schon am Ter­mi­nal sein. Als ich den Bus­fahrplan von Van­cou­ver studierte, bemerk­te ich, dass der erste Bus erst um sieben Uhr abfährt. Wenn alles gut geht benötige ich 30 Minuten bis zum Ter­mi­nal. Beim Umsteigen vom Bus zur U‑Bahn ran­nte ich Reko­rd verdächtig. Wenn es einen Wet­tbe­werb gäbe, hätte ich die Goldmedaille auf sich­er.

In Whistler brachte ich zuerst mein Gepäck zu Chris­es Büro und anschliessend ging ich zur Infor­ma­tionsver­anstal­tung. Das Olymp­is­che Dorf ist ca. 8 Km von Whistler ent­fer­nt. Mit dem Bus benötigt man 15 Minuten dort hin. Um ins Olymp­is­che-Dorf zu gelan­gen muss man zwei Sicher­heitss­chleusen passieren gle­ich wie am Flughafen. Im Dorf herrschte ein durcheinan­der, denn über­all wird noch gehäm­mert und gebohrt! Schon in weni­gen Tagen soll das Olymp­is­che Dorf aber eröffnet wer­den.

Traveling to Whistler and information in the afternoon

I trav­eled to Whistler on Jan­u­ary 28^th, in the morn­ing with the Grey­hound-Bus. It was sched­uled to leave Van­cou­ver at 8 am. But I have to sty 30 min­utes before the bus leaves on the bus depot. I need 30 min­utes from home to the bus depot. But the first bus leaves North Van­cou­ver at 7 am. So I sprint­ed from the bus to the sky train very fast. If there is a con­test I had won a gold medal.

In Whistler I trooped off my lug­gage at Chris­es office and then after I went to the infor­ma­tion. The Olympic Vil­lage is approx­i­mate­ly 5 mileages from Whistler. It takes 15 min­utes with the bus to get there. You have to pass two safe­ty lock sim­i­lar in en air port. The vil­lage was busy, because a lot of peo­ple are work­ing to com­plete the vil­lage. But soon they will open the Olympic Vil­lage.
